If you’re new to this – welcome to a discussion series, that includes some facilitation around the subject.
I love this topic – DISTRACTION. We are all distracted in some fashion, and what I’ve learned is that not all types of distraction are the same. Some are actually capacities that create a greater future and some are muscles or algorithms that don’t. Knowing the difference will help you decide what to change or not. And the first step is to not make yourself wrong about any of it. Making yourself wrong does one thing – contract your world and the possibilities in it. In other words – it’s limit’s you.
Because of the limitation of languages (most of our languages), you might be trying to fit yourself into one definition of distraction that is mainly about making you wrong (instead of using your awareness). This definition doesn’t ask any questions – such as, “Whats going on here? Can I change it? If so how?” Wrong is a conclusion that has no other way than what does – keeps you and your power down.
And then sometimes we just say our life has too many distractions, which is a story about what our life is like. A story is not an awareness as much as buying the story.
This series of discussions aims at guiding you to see what you might call a distraction but is actually something more refined than that. I find so far 5 definitions of distraction – which, if you used the true one for each situation might cause you to make a different set of choices than the main idea of what we call distraction. And which might also keep you from labeling yourself or others as ADD or ADHD.
The discussion will be a Zoom conference call. there will be two options to choose from – Series A or Series B. They happen at different times and days. This will be an open, guided discussion with facilitation for some. The calls will be recorded and sent to you via Dropbox. It is not a problem if you miss a call.
